EverECO Americas was established in 2020, by a group of individuals who share a common concern for the well-being of our environment.  As industry has evolved and progressed, many people seem to forget about environmental conservation and the consequences of our actions.


John Easom

One of the founding members of EverECO Americas which was established in 2020, by a group of individuals who share a common concern for the well-being of our environment. 

Mr. Easom has over 40 years of business experience mostly in medical device manufacturing and distribution. He has held leadership roles with some of the most recognized companies in the industry.

Before establishing EverEco Americas, Mr. Easom was a Board Advisor to Sharps Technology in 2018 and later became Chief Business Development Officer in 2019. Prior to that Mr. Easom served in Executive roles from 1998 to 2017 including EVP of International Operations and Global Business Development for Vital Signs Inc. (NASDEQ: VITL) from 1998 to 2008 and held the same role with GE Healthcare (NYSE:GE) from 2008 to 2010.  From 2010 to 2017 Mr. Easom consulted and held the role of CEO and Director of Trinity Medical Devices. 

Mr. Easom’s responsibilities during his career include managing Sales & Marketing, presiding over R&D, presiding over New Product Opportunities, Manufacturing, and identifying and developing business opportunities worldwide.

Before entering the Medical Device sector, Mr. Easom held Senior VP positions with Foster Medical (Div. of Avon) & Glasrock Home Healthcare (Div. of BOC). He served as an Executive VP with Health Planning & Development, and Affinity Ventures, a Merger & Acquisitions company.

Mr. Easom is Board President for the local Boys & Girls Clubs of America.


Ernest D. Whelan

Mr. Whelan worked 29 years with the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 25 Marine Division, with the last 9 years serving as President and Business Manager. As Co-Chairman of the Local 25 Funds, Mr. Whelan oversaw and ensured that all fiduciary responsibilities were met. In addition, he was also National Vice President of the Maritime Trades Department AFL/CIO and Secretary Treasurer of the IUOE South Atlantic Conference and served as a member of the U.S. Department of Labor’s Maritime Advisory Committee for Occupational Safety and Health (MACOSH), and as a member of Prudential Retirement Client Advisory Board.

In 2009, Mr. Whelan was appointed by New Jersey Governor Jon Corzine, to serve as the Executive Director of the New Jersey State Board of Mediation for the New Jersey Department of Labor and was the principal officer for the NJSBM in the administration of mediation, arbitration, and related services.

Mr. Whelan retired in November 2020 from the NJSBM. He is an avid conservationist and horticulturalist.


Benn Vennesland

Benn Vennesland has extensive experience in industry through senior positions in Engineering, Operations and Business Unit Management with Trinity Medical Devices Inc.; Vital Signs, Inc., a GE Healthcare Company; and Mallinckrodt Medical Co.  His engineering and supply chain focus is in high volume consumable products with expertise in Molding, Extrusion, Assembly, Packaging, & Distribution.  His education includes a Master of Industrial and Management Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
